What’s the difference between levels of measurement in realtuon to statistics? (Ordinal/Interval/Nominal/Ratio)

Taking a stats class and I can’t figure out how to differentiate between the four.

Ordinal data is data where things have an order, but the distance between those pieces of data aren’t clear. So, something like “1st place,” “2nd place,” and “3rd place” would be ordinal.

Nominal data has no such order. Information like “male” and “female” would fall in this category.

Interval data is data where each point is separated by an equal amount. The numbers on a thermometer would be an example of this.

Ratio data is the same as interval data, except there is a “true zero.” That means there are no negative numbers.
