What’s the difference between Marines and Navy?

Marines are a smaller more nimble and more trained fighting force all inclusive of land/sea/air for self sufficiency. First ones in. Shock troops you might call them.
Navy just transports Marines where they need to go.
Jk, battleships and carriers can lay down some serious firepower. Many times from the relative safety of a long ass way away. Carriers are extremely useful strategic weapons platforms.
