What’s the psychological reason people find the idea of their parents having sex repugnant?

I think I question basic premise here. I think it’s mostly a joke/trope about your parents being old and ugly. But if I had to try and explain it being real, I think there’s a contrast between what a parent is to a child and the fact that they are also sexual beings. A child’s image of a parent is this pure, loving, caretaker. And sex is sort of icky when the sex enjoying part of our brains isn’t active. It’s pretty unsanitary when you think about how we treat bodily fluids in other contexts. So the idea of our parents doing this icky thing is icky.
