When you have a difference in pressure the air tries to get from the High pressure to the Low pressure. Think of a balloon you have more stuff on the inside and it’s trying to escape that’s what gives the balloon it’s shape.

We know how the air(wind) travels from high to low and can therefore work out quite a bit about the weather like wind speed direction rough temperatures etc.
