When some waves are “translated” into soundwaves, how does it work?

I don’t understand the concept behind it. For instance, I once saw how the NASA had recorded electromagnetic waves and they translated this into sound, so you could [hear](http://canyouactually.com/nasa-actually-recorded-sound-in-space-and-its-absolutely-chilling/) how the space “sounds”. How do the soundwaves translate?

All waves have certain properties, mainly wavelength/frequency (these are distinct but related) and amplitude. Electromagnetic waves and sound waves are included in this.

Translating an EM wave into a Sound wave is as simple as taking the wavelength (or frequency) and amplitude of the EM wave and generating a sound wave that has properties that correlate.
