when the Thwaites glacier breaks off will how fast will the water rise propagate

Like I know it won’t be instant, but would it be like a world wide Tsunami or Like a slow rise over months

It travels at the speed of sound through water. That’s about 1500 m/s

As for tsunamis, they show down as they approach the shore because they lift above the surface of the surrounding ocean

The ocean levels would also rise pretty insignificantly from single chunk of ice, because the ocean is just so massive. The size of this glacier does propose a significant risk, but it also won’t all fall in at once
