When you’re having stomach cramps with diarrhea, what actually causes those sharp pains inside your abdominal area? Does anything actually contract or is it just gas?

peristalsis is a part of that.. but that sharp pain.. specific muscle spasm or similar maybe. Nut check for peristalsis.. could help you answer.
