Where did the Mongols find resources to conquer such a massive land area?

They were able to move armies at crazy speed.
This allowed them to beat everyone with less effort. Basically they were a lot more cost efficient, therefore little resources still delivered massive results in their hands.
Imagine you can’t chase them, while they can go around your army and beat up your lands. Even if you are stronger in a spot, they can attack another and force you to run around with no results. If you spread your forces to protect every place, they come full force onto a single detachment, delete it and attack another. Rinse and repeat, you have to surrender to them and pay tribute, which gives them more money to finance more conquering.
