Where do photons come from?

When I burn a candle or turn on a lightbulb in completely dark room, light comes from that source. This means photons must be emitted from the light source. What is the origin on these photons? How are they created?

Photons are particles of light, and they are created when atoms or molecules release energy.

When you burn a candle or turn on a lightbulb, the heat or electricity causes the atoms or molecules in the source to become excited. As they return to their lower energy states, they release this energy in the form of photons. These photons are what we see as visible light.

So, in simple terms, photons are created when energy is released from atoms or molecules, and that’s where they come from.
