where does UK energy come from and why are prices so high?

I have heard energy is generated from solar/wind/coal in the UK and this is where the most profit comes from but due to privatisation rules, companies cannot use this money to help consumer bills. Is this correct. I heard there is also a lot of energy piped in?

The most expensive and largest source of energy is gas. That comes mostly from Norway and the UK.

Renewables, mainly wind, is the next biggest source. That is mainly from humongous wind farms off our own coast. Wind has to be priced at the same rate as the most expensive source, that being gas. So it doesn’t matter how cheap wind is, we don’t get the benefit.
