Lets say I’m shooting a bee hive (like today’s hot post); a lens I shoot the hive is called “macro” lens which doesn’t make any sense to me since I’m shooting in a micro scale.

Micro Photography is usually through a microscope and 10x magnification or more. Macro Photography is 10x magnification or less. It’s macro because it’s bigger than micro.
