Why are bees getting more aggressive from cigarette smoke but sedated and calm from normal fire smoke?

Cigarette smoke is full of nicotine. Nicotine is an insect toxic agent, that’s why the tobacco plant produces it. The bees detect this toxin and want to get away from it and prevent it from poisoning their hive.

Smoke from burning wood or charcoal is mostly CO2, and bees don’t see that as a dangerous toxin.
