Why are cockroaches much larger in comparison to other household insects?

A lot of people hate cockroaches, and its hard not to see why. But if you compare them with your other average home insects such as mosquitoes, flies, and spiders (outside Australia), cockroaches are so much bigger in comparison. Even a cockroach that could be considered young is pretty big. Why are they so big though? What made them decide to become chonkers with wings? Did God just decide to fuck with us by allowing them to grow as large as the palm of my hand while also granting them the power to fly around like a moth?

they are different animals, that is why.

This is like asking why dogs are larger than most household pets such as cats, rabbits, and hamsters.
