They need to be refrigerated, and it’s usually best to have all the refrigerated stuff in a few areas, because it all requires wires and plumbing and stuff. So that means they need to go near the dairy or the meat. If you’re looking at eggs or milk, you’re likely to think of breakfast, and that means you’re likely to pick up the other thing, since it’s right there. You might also think of cheese, coffee creamer, etc., and that’s there, too.

If they put it by the meat, you’d be thinking of dinner, and eggs wouldn’t really be a valid impulse item there.

Also, some consultant probably got paid half a million dollars to say the same thing in a corporate boardroom.

If you make eggs they have to have milk in them or they could be poisonous. Might as well keep them near the antidote.
