Why are FDM printed parts usually stronger than SLA printed parts?

Mostly materials. There are a lot of factors but some of it is related to the tensile strength and elongation at break, which is a function of the polymer which is a function of the polymer chains which is a function of the curing mechanism of SLA. A chemist can explain things more technically correct than myself.

There are ABS-like resins, such as those offered by Formlabs.
