Just a note: I posted this before and it resembled some previous posts about why flies eat poop and thus it was removed as that has been answered in the past, but I’ve clarified and received permission to repost (I’m hoping this comment doesn’t put it back in that bucket).

Why are some plants poison and other plants not? Like, if poison is such a great way to protect a planet why wouldn’t all plants do it?
Answer: all plants are poison to some animals, but some of these poisons humans can eat. It’s not bad for us since we have evolved to eat it. Same with thy flys.

Different animals evolved in different anvironment and they are used to eat things around them…
While one plant is poisonous to one animal, not for another
Chocolate is deadly for dogs, but not for humans… It contain theobromine, humans are just much better processing it…
