Why are humans so physically weak compared to other animals?

For instance, most of us would have a very hard time surviving in the wild. And even then, we need tools in order to survive. Our physical strength is weak compared to many other animals. Why are we so weak compared to other wild animals who have no problem surviving on their own?

Through evolution, animals gave alot of compromises for food and safety. Cheetah is fast but weaker than a lion. A hyena is an enduarance runner and humans have brainpower

Sure, a naked unarmed human alone is easy pickings for almost any predator.

It’s a good thing you will almost never be naked unarmed and alone. We don’t need brute strength and we are phenomenally well suited to compensating for our weakness.

Also as others have said, we are endurance animals (the best endurance runners in the animal kingdom).

We evolved the capacity for abstraction, then artifice, as a result of not having, say, Sabre teeth. Or being a ton of muscle fronted by teeth and claws. As it turns out, the capacity for abstract thought makes us apex predators. The social bonds we have evolved with make us good at crowdsourcing solutions to problems. Thermoregulation means we can adapt to any climate. And as far as we know, we’re the only lifeform that has memes. That being said, here’s my favourite physical human superpower:

Because physical strength means very little to humans.

If I asked you to hunt any animal, would you punch it to death?

From another point of view, what good will having enormous physical strength do?

We were made to run long distances for hunting and used strategies to kill stronger animals. We were also smart enough to make weapons which we are the only animals to do so. Also hunted in groups.

Humans can out run and out-think anything else on the planet. We don’t need to be strong to reproduce.

Evolution doesn’t go with what’s stronger it just goes with what works, for example, you don’t have to be the fastest animal when a lion attacks you, you just can’t be the slowest.

It is because we’re more capable of fine motor control with our muscles, which allows for the use of tools and accomplish many more tasks.

A chimp may lift twice as much as a man. However it will not be able to throw a rock at something at a distance with accuracy.

we make up for it with stamina..

your weakness is McDonalds… causes you to be slow and fat with no stamina
(remember you weigh 350 pounds from over eating )

it causes you to be exhausted by the time you get to the next door mail box
our strength is stamina
