It was just useful for them to be communicative so the trait was promoted during breeding at the end of the day sled dogs don’t need to appear strong or tough with stoic natures they need to be vocal with owner since them being sick could endanger an entire team so they were bred to be okay with some disobedience in mind to communicate discomfort they don’t mind loudly saying their leg hurts or they’re sick or hungry since it’s better they complain and have their needs met rather than they fail husky’s don’t really mind physical exercise in the cold so them complaining was a plus rather than an issue not to mention riders were usually lonely so husky’s having companion personality along with working dog traits help to defeat two issues
