why are non-digital weighing scales still heavily used across many professional sports, hospitals, etc?

I’ve worked in sports for about 15 years now. The analog scales are more accurate, more reliable, last longer, and are very easy to calibrate. A solid detecto scale will cost about 100$ and last for 30 years with no issues. Also, side note, having worked on Navy ships they also work surprisingly accurately while underway.
