Why are pregnant women more likely to go into labour on a stormy night?

Edit: Apparently (and this is mostly anecdotal evidence from hospital staff), hospitals seem to be full of women in labour during stormy nights.

A quick google told me that a drop in “barometric pressure” on stormy nights can cause this phenomenon. Not sure what that means or how it can induce labour so hoping for some clarification.
