why are sheets still cold even if you’ve been under think blankets that are supposed to trap in heat?

I’ve always been confused about this because I sleep under many thick soft blankets yet my sheets always seem to be cold when they should warm up from being trapped in my body heat.

Do you tuck your sheets in under the mattress or are you wrapped up burrito style?

If your sheets are tucked under the bed instead of wrapped up a lot if heat can escape that way. The thinner the blanket the less heat it holds in as well. So when the blanket does not hold in enough heat to overcome the cold air coming from underneath the mattress you get cold sheets.
