why are sheets still cold even if you’ve been under think blankets that are supposed to trap in heat?

I’ve always been confused about this because I sleep under many thick soft blankets yet my sheets always seem to be cold when they should warm up from being trapped in my body heat.

Because there’s not really much to them, so they don’t hold in the heat that was put into them.

Sort of like how tin foil doesn’t stay hot very long after you take it out of an oven. The material is so thin and has a lot of surface area that the heat radiates back out of it pretty fast.
