Why are the Earth’s oceans so cold when the Earth at the same depths is so hot?

Water changes density very slightly with temperature, and since it is fluid the denser, colder water settles on the bottom. Any water that gets warmed by the Earth’s internal heat would rise up and be replaced by more cold water, which in turn keeps the ocean floor itself cold.
