If I remember correctly, its because tge areas in our brains responsible to thirst and hunger are close, so sometimes drinking affects the hunger area etc

Because (healthy) food contains water. Eating fruits, for example, can help quench your thirst, and this, in turn, teaches you that you can eat fruits when thirsty.

On the other hand, water is heavy, and if you drink a lot of it, you won’t have space in your stomach for more food (for a short period of time). This means that you can drink water to feel less hungry (for a short period of time).

I’ve never found them difficult to distinguish. Is that unusual? I feel hunger in my stomach, and thirst in the back of my throat. Throat irritation due to a cold can sometimes fee like thirst to me.
