Any tsunami video I look at barely looks like a 20 feet wave hitting shore. But wikipedia tells me there have been dozens of 100+ feet tsunamis even in the last 10 years.

Go to 12:00 on this video and you can see how the wave is not like a wave you would normally experience but more like a tide that happens over 30-60 seconds. All of a sudden the ocean is 30’ deeper where you were standing.
