Why are there so many pornographic reply bots on Twitter?

1.11K viewsOtherTechnology

Anyone who’s spent time on Twitter in the past few months especially has probably run into or at least heard of the “P U S S Y I N B I O”-type replies that posts regularly seem to attract.

Why are they so prevalent? Are they actually so successful that it’s worthwhile to do this? I do not understand who benefits from these, because there cannot be so many people clicking on these links that they’re effective… Can there?

Imagine the bots as playground bullies, and moderators as teachers who watch over recess. Bullies can make a lot of money by stealing other kids lunch money, but what stops them is the teachers being there. When there are more teachers, less money gets stolen by the bullies.

Now imagine if the school got rid of most of the teachers, and there’s one that has to look over recess with 500 kids. That’s what Elon did when he took over, he got rid of most of the teachers (moderators), and as a result, porn bots, hate accounts, hate speech, all increased drastically.

Twitter? Have you looked around Reddit lately?
Damn porn bots are everywhere these days. I got 30 chat requests last week and only one was from a human being.

Because bots are the only source of engagement on Twitter since Elon bought it for the lulz.

Lucky you. I get the Asian girls with the same pic in bio, same name (usually Linda), and they talk about cryptocurrency.

Elon Mule wants you to pay premium for the version of Twitter we used to know (before he buyed it, the decent one).
