A good few reasons.
1) Humans are a subspecies of the Great Ape family, only separated by having useful mutations that developed into us taking over the world
2) There have been other species of human, but our ancestors out competed and out bred them (as in they literally slept with them and the offspring was more like us than EITHER of them, probably because those offspring are literally us) so they weren’t able to hold onto an ecological niche and died out.
