Dust/dirt composition is different in different areas of the country

We don’t see the tornado; we see all the stuff being moved by the tornado (clouds/dirt/foliage/debris)

Tornadoes are just air. The actual tornado itself is invisible, its visible to us based on what its currently sucked into its rotation. Clouds, dirt, dust, debris, whatever is around it is picked up into it, and that determines what it looks like.
