Why are we more productive,focused easily on things we enjoy?

Because if you think it is useful, or fun, it give an incentive to pursue it, rather than something where there is little to no reward.
The definition of “enjoy” is fairly interesting. I’m not a neuroscientist so a real one can answer this better but my understanding is that the feeling of enjoyment is actually dopamine being released into the brain.
One of the factors that release dopamine is novelty so when you are working on something new, very productive, very focused because everything is novel and tripping that sensor very easily.
When you are doing something you’ve done a thousand times before that sensor is really hard to trip so it’s less enjoyable and you are less productive and less focused because the reward sensor isn’t being tripped.
