Batteries are not just electricity. They store chemicals, and chemicals cannot react instantly. It takes some time for the chemical reaction to occur that’s needed for a battery to store electricity.

Cause that’s not how batteries work. For instant charging you would use a capacitor. Which has the issue of instant discharge. Though there was a company working on slow discharge capacitors a few years back.
