Why are we suddenly having all these extreme Aurora Borealis events?

I live in Upstate NY, I can recall maybe once or twice in my entire lifetime hearing about being able to see the aurora and now it seems to be happening at least every few months, lately..

This seems like a significant increase over a very short period of time.. why is this happening?

I had the same questions. What I wanted to know is that bad for us or due to deteriorating climate conditions or there is no impact to us at all ?

The Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?

My mom and I are flying up to Yellowknife, NT to see the Aurora in January and these comments have me VERY excited for the lights!

The same reason there are so many blood moons, wolf moons, super moons. Media just needs something to fill in the the weather and traffic between the ads.
