An apple is easier digested by the body because of its purely organic nature. Chewing gum has artificial chemical additives that have to be broken down to pass through.

Chewing gum isn’t *really* food; it’s more like candy you’re supposed to throw away. Most gum is made from an organic polymer similar to rubber, and, while it is perfectly safe to swallow, the expectation is that you’re not going to swallow it. Apples, by contrast, are fruit, and you can eat fruit.

Thanks for the million dollar idea. I’m gonna produce an apple sized and shaped hunk of bubble gum (green apple flavor of course) that you take bites from until its gone. Maybe in a closable vacuum formed apple shaped shell to keep it fresh. Big Apple Gum! Nobody steal my idea now, OK?

You can but it is typically inadvisable as there is no real nutrient value in chewing gum. If you chew gum long enough it does actually break down, it just takes a lot longer than real food.

I can’t not swallow gum. My throat like constricts if i think about spitting it out. Is this a habit or some weird way I’ve trained myself????
