why brushless motor is preferred over conventional one?

The obvious reason is that they do not have brushes, so there is less friction and electrical resistance. No need to change the brushes as they wear out and no need to clean out the dust from the old brushes. In addition to this in a brushed motor the phases is set by the brushes and the commutators. But in a brushless motor the phase is set electronically. So you can vary the torque by setting the phase and even slow down by setting a negative phase. So you get more power, more control and less maintenance.
