Why can most computers run games like RDR2, Cyberpunk, etc. Really fast but when emulating ps3/Xbox360 games it lags and can barely run it?

You computer doesn’t understand code for say an N64 or PS2.
Your computer has to simulate an entire N64 or PS2, and then the simulated gaming console runs the code.
