Why can paint mix to become different colors? Don’t we see color by how light reflects off the material?

There are multiple reason:

1.the combination of the pigments(molecules or small particles)that each reflects at the same time. This Mix of different light is than the colour.

2. The mixture reacts to a new kind of molecule or particle wich itself reflects only in one colour.
