Why can we get HIV to a viral load of 0 but can’t get rid of the virus?

It sucks but if anyone with HIV is reading this, getting the viral load to undetectable in blood tests was just a huge accomplishment. Be glad you werent dating in the 80s.
Edit: You are no longer contagious so your partners don’t have to really worry unless you go off the meds.
