Why can we get HIV to a viral load of 0 but can’t get rid of the virus?

We never get it to 0. We get it below the threshold of the test. We use the term undetectable. Also HIV is a retrovirus meaning it integrates into DNA of its host. It is also very good at evading the immune system.
