Why can we pop corn but not pop beans?

We can pop popcorn by using hot hair or oil, why can’t we do the same with beans?

Pop-corn kernels have just the right amount of water inside to create the steam that bursts the kernel open. Beans have too much water (even if treated like corn into popcorn kernels), so they just explode instead of generously popping just enough to flip it inside out.

You can, however, make pop”corn” out of other grains like rice or wheat! Popped rice is easily found.
