Why can you sometimes feel your heartbeat in random parts of your body?

Sometimes I’m laying in bed completely normally and suddenly I feel my heartbeat in my hip or a random part of my body. I’m not even sure if this is normal but when I googled it I found nothing.

blood pressure. that’s the simple answer, when it spikes you can literally feel it in that area.

You are not feeling your heartbeat but actually your pulse. Your heartbeat is your heart pumping blood out and your pulse is that pressure wave/pulse traveling down your arteries. You are essentially feeling the pressure created from your heart pumping. You may feel your pulse in different areas because pressures are higher in bigger arteries, also you can locate some arteries more easily than others.

The heart carries blood all over the body and through the veins. Similarity, there are veins that go to different parts of your body . The veins connect to arteries that connect to your heart therefore you can feel the blood being pushed through those veins
