Why can’t they make a type of mouth guard/Invisalign thing to wear when eating so we never have to brush our teeth?

We would never have to brush our teeth because they would never get dirty if we had a type of guard we could put over our teeth while eating. Since Invisalign exists this would definitely be a realistic invention that I’m surprised doesn’t already exist. It wouldn’t have to be tailored for each person’s teeth, just tight enough to stay on while eating. If this is a bad idea, why so?

You would probably still have to brush your teeth even with a way to fully cover and seal away your teeth while eating – the bacteria responsible for damaging your teeth and gums feed off the residual nutrients left in your mouth, not just stuck to your teeth.

If the cover isn’t full sealing away the teeth, then your nutrient ladend saliva will get into it, feeding those bacteria, causing issues in the long run.

In any case, the bacteria colonies living on your tongue will cause plaque buildup and bad breath even if you were abke to keep them off your teeth.

While it might be possible to create a mouthguard-like device that prevents food from getting stuck in your teeth and causing decay, it would not be a good idea. This is because the mouthguard would not be able to clean your teeth or remove bacteria, which is essential for maintaining good oral hygiene. Additionally, food particles that get trapped under the mouthguard could lead to bad breath and an unpleasant taste in your mouth. Finally, even if the mouthguard did prevent food from getting stuck in your teeth, it would not be able to prevent other problems associated with poor oral hygiene, such as gum disease and tooth decay. Overall, brushing your teeth regularly is the best way to maintain good oral hygiene and prevent tooth decay and other problems.
