Why can’t we just create a human brain from scratch or even a human body from scratch (not counting pregnancy)?

Ethical concerns aside, cloning today isn’t even to the point where we can create a creature without an egg or womb from a living donor, and even then the clones have a significantly reduced lifespan.

And we don’t even fully know what’s going on in the human body, I don’t even think we’ve fully decoded our DNA yet. Let alone the brain.

Short answer? It’s far too complicated and involves processes that we can’t replicate.

What would be much much much easier than a brain would be to “grow” someone a new foot or hand. And that’s super complicated and we can’t copy the way that it’s done.
