That’s basically what vape is. Sure, there’s some propylene glycol and or glycerin and flavorings, otherwise it’s just pharmaceutical grade nicotine and probably some trace fumes from the coil.

Some tobacco filters have activated charcoal, which tends to make them smoother.

Plus, lots of those other chemicals form a unique cocktail of ‘active’ ingredients, which makes cigarettes more addictive than nicotine itself. Couldn’t tell you which exactly(some people abuse formaldehyde, for instance), but it’s pretty murky research… You’re going to basic poison an awfully lot of mice trying to make them into helpless addicts. I wouldn’t want to do it.

Different cigarettes have vastly different effects even if they report similar levels of tar and nicotine levels, for instance. Cigarettes are typically highly processed and typically contain numerous additives, most thought to make the product more addictive.

Nicotine is carcinogenic, so even if you had a perfect cigarette that somehow only put nicotine in your lungs, you would still be increasing your risk of cancer.

I think a cleaner cigarette is the future. Also as a 41 yr old smoker, smoking makes me feel disgusting.
I hate the smell on my fingers. I wash my hands after smoking. Big tobbaco won’t change because they know we are addicted to these thousands of chemicals.

I vape (8 years since real cig and don’t miss them). Would love a better way to use nicotine recreationally. There are a bunch of “medical” solutions but they cost almost as much as cigs, where as I can fulfill my vaping habbit for about 3 quid a week (based on 1 GBP a bottle and doing just under half a bottle per day).

We need a non medical version of the nicitonell inhalour at about 5 percent of the price (and maybe a nod towards reducing plastic usage)

Removing carcinogens would still not make smoking safe. It would still cause heart disease.

Cigarette companies actiually add more chemicals to make their product more addicting. They want you to keep smoking. They could remove these chemicals but it would not be in their best intersest.
