Why do ADHD and ASD have so many traits in common?

Both of them are declared disorders but still I can temporarily fix some of the symptoms of ADHD through pills and stuff.
Im asking cause I’m genuinely curious, I’m adhd and after seeing all those questions related to my disorder lately, I found the courage to ask this one.

Everybody says they have adhd these days it’s so infuriating. I was diagnosed with it on 3 separate occasions. Once by a clinical psychologist….once by a psychiatrist and then once by another psychiatrist in rehab. I modified my lifestyle….working out everyday…modifying behavior…learning to cope with boredom….joined sports, quit alcohol and 95% on the symptoms went away. Now a new doctor is saying it was all a misdiagnoses. And look at the questions they ask you in the test….those questions can apply to anyone….they are extremely subjective.

I don’t believe any of you that claim to have adhd….it’s all excuses….have you actually tried to change your lifestyle, drinking, being active etc?

Yes some people do legitimately suffer from the disorder. But everyone here on reddit is claiming to have it or been diagnosed with it when 90% of the cases have to do with poor organizational skills and low executive function/planning. I hate to break it to you but you’re gonna have to WORK on these issues which no medication will automatically fix. Whatever you are dealing with can be learned with enough practice and time.
