Those bodies require more energy maintenance and resources it just to hard for them to maintain their health in the wild and their more susceptible to disease famines and natural disasters

We live longer, so that we could help our children/ family/ tribe raise more children. Most of animals don’t do that, so they don’t need such a long lifespan. Living longer makes evolution takes longer time, so it is disadvantage, and does not happen unless there is some other gain from it.

“Lifespan” is is not about power. It is about speed. In a dozen years, dogs are born , grow up, mature, grow old and die. Their cells are just overclocked to run the whole program at a faster rate than humans. There are advantages and disadvantages to this. Dogs heal faster and can procreate sooner. Humans are around a very long time so we can teach our young all sorts of stuff, but our young are helpless idiots for like 6 years. Haha
