Why do babies cry seeing their dads without beards.?

Because most guys look completely different without facial hair. You might as well have a stranger pick up your baby and wonder why the baby is upset. So it’s not surprising that a baby takes time to realize that it’s not a stranger, it’s still the same person just looking a little different.
Object permanence is something we learn. It’s why we play hide and seek with babies. Some babies will cry when you hide your eyes. Same with a major change.
