I saved up and got a nice, fluffy cat tree for my 2 cats but they still opt to sleep in a cardboard scratcher. It really confuses my brain. How is the rough texture comfy for them?

Like some humans, cats are very particular about textures and sensations. I know people who cannot stand “nice” textures like velvet, fake/real fur, and soft felt.
Also, if you haven’t had the cat tree for very long, they just might not trust it yet.
