Why do cats react to this piercing sound by sticking their tongues out?

It’s been years since I’ve had this question and this seems like the perfect opportunity to get an answer! I don’t know if any of you remember those old trendy videos about sliding your finger roughly through hair comb bristles, and it caused the kitties to stick their tongues out unvoluntary, what happens that? What’s the reason of such a behaviournal reaction?

Extreme sensitivity to high frequency sounds AND the fact that comb hits a very unique frequency that is actually making the larynx (your cat’s voice box) vibrate. Much like it does when cats pur. This strange sensation then causes cats to respond by gagging to the unexpected feeling
