why do chills happen and how do they happen?

I was watching It 2 and when I saw Pennywise my body got chills. The facial expressions and scene were quite neutral but I got them anyways.

So I want to know why did this happen and what does the body do to cause this from visual impulse to chill response?

Basically this is a form of anxiety, whether it is conscious or subconscious your brain has recognized something as threat or a stressor and so in preparation for a flight or fight response your body activates and fires it’s muscles which causes the tremors or chills
