Why do cuts on your fingers heal completely while cuts on other parts of your body (such as your arm) tend to scar?

They are often of completely different scales. If you get a shallow cut in your arm or leg you might not even notice it. However because you use your fingers all the time you tend to notice even the shallowest of cut. And these shallow cuts might not even end up leaving a noticeable scar. And when you do get a bigger cut on your arm or leg they tend to be deeper and longer. A lot of them is longer then your finger is wide and so would be a very serious injury if they were made to your fingers. All but one of my scars on my fingers were from wounds that required attention from a doctor while none of the scars on the rest of my body needed much other then a bandage.
Who doesn’t scar on their fingers? Lots of people have scars on their fingers. I have at least three scars on my fingers.
At most you can say that cuts on fingers tend towards being shallow and the shallow skin on fingers wears away and grows back faster than some skin, but people absolutely have scars on their fingers all the time.
Cuts on fingers totally *do* scar–I have one on the back of my left forefinger that had to have four stitches in it 30 years ago, and there’s still a very obvious scar there now.
I have two scars on my left hand index finger.
One on the first (closest to hand) phalange from cutting myself through a t-towel while drying a very sharp knife about 35yrs ago and one on the end phalange that also went partially through the fingernail (about 29yrs ago), again while drying a sharp knife with a t-towel.
The first didn’t get stitches becoz parents were assholes, the second got about two or three. While the first is hardly noticeable, it is still there and the second much more noticeable and is a bit numb.
I no longer dry knives. Lol
