– Why do different foods taken out from the fridge taste as if they have different temperatures?

Hi all. Just got 2 items from the fridge, and in my mouth one was cold (of course) while the other item felt much colder even though i took them out at the same time. One item (less cold) was a cheese, Grana Padano while the colder item was a kind of sicilian sauce.

Thanks

It’s the difference in the amount of liquid in the items, so since the sauce has a lot more liquid than the cheese it feels colder.

It’s basically thermodynamics and the difference between how solids and liquids transfer heat or cold.
